We have been having a clear-out at home, and we came across this old hosiery box:

This was the box that my wife's wedding tiara was kept in. As we were married in 1974, it probably dates from the late '60s or early '70s. Needless to say the three pairs of tights that it once contained are long gone. So, incidentally, is the tiara - it seems that the kids had it for dressing up, and it was never put back!
The dimensions of the box are 7¼ by 9 by 1½ inches. The only other information is on the end of the box:
Sheer thru presumably means what we would call sheer to waist. The discoloured white label may once have contained the price per pair, but nothing is legible on it now. I do however recall the colour brandysnap - it was a brownish tan colour, rather like a, ummm, brandysnap.
