~ Doug ~
In the US it's illegal to be dressed indecently, but not illegal to crossdress. Also, where would you draw the line? Some people might claim that all the boys wearing girls skinny jeans are crossdressing.
~ Rod ~
is it legal to crossdress when outside as a female
~ Andy M ~
epilators have been suggested. I've just bought a Braun and done my first epilate session. So far so good, but still a long way from hair free legs (which are essential for any tights wearing!!!)
~ Adrian ~
With winter on the way I shall be cutting down on heating bills by wearing opaque tights with a wool kilt.

@badleg: Try Elbeo Sheer Magic or Elbeo Caresse. Size XL is available. They really do help...

Ordered some tights from Emilio Cavallini, they're great! Good stretch, warm, opaque. Good replacement for my regular sock-wearing.

Tights from Turkey

posted Tuesday, 24 October 2006
Pantyhoseby Pantyhose

Sorry to talk a bit about my private life : my brother in law is turkish, and back from a trip to his country of origin, he gave to my sister a pair of tights he had bought for her in Turkey. My sister who is in the know about my passion for tights showed me the packet. The tights weren't inside. I couldn't resist to scan it recto verso, so I could publish the pictures on this blog.

The pictures were restored slightly because of the imperfections of the scanning, caused by the exceptional thickness of the packet : about 1/2 inch ! I had to leave the scanner's door open during the scanning, then I used my image editor to restore the pictures once scanned.

As I have not seen the tights, I cannot make a review, so I had to trust the writings on the packet. It is mentionned that the tights are made of 90% polyamid and 10% Lycra, but I have searched in vain a mention of the yarn's weight. It must be something between 13 and 15 deniers. I figure that it is not considered an important data for the turkish customer.

The tights are patterned all along the legs with satin stitch, the dots being replaced with small crosses looking like planes seen from above.

I will have to ask my sister her opinion about these tights. She's not as knowledgeable as I am for sure, but the lot that she knows now about hosiery was learnt from me after we went downtown together to a general store to buy tights for the two of us, many years ago, after she knew about me and the tights.

Thanks, PH

It is interesting to see how tights are marketed and packaged elewhere in the world. For tights from an Islamic country, there is a very un-Islamic looking young lady on the package here!

These tights are marketed as 'Italian' in some way. I imagine tekstüre means 'texture' or something similar. I wasn't able to tell whether the tights were made in Italy (where a lot of hosiery is made) or whether they were actually made in Turkey. Can you tell?

Maybe to complete the review, you could ask your sister to comment on what the tights were like, please.

I found a link to this brand of hosiery: I cannot understand a word, but the picture makes up for that.

The link you gave pointed to a very slow site. It took me some 5 minutes to see the page ! Like you, I don't understand most of the words, except "Lycra" which is written several times. The thing is that I can't ask my brother-in-law. He is a kurd, which language is completely different from turkish. He would certainly be able to give me a trustful and complete translation (to give you an example, he set up the language of his cellphone's menu in turkish - I am lost, each time I want to explain him some feature on his telephone), but he would wonder why I may have an interest about things like hosiery !

The brand name is "Teksture italiana". I don't know whether it is manufactured in Italy or in Turkey, but it may also be nothing but a commercial name. To give you an example, "Philippe Matignon" and "Pierre Mantoux" look a great deal like french names, but it is 100% italian brands.

While the link you gave above tried to load, I went to the maker's site (link). The address was written on the pictures of the article, but unfortunately, given the small scale at which I supplied the pictures, you were unable to notice it ! You will certainly see that, like on the packet seen above and like you pointed it out, the models are dressed the same way than for western european hosiery brands.
