How I started wearing

I was born before the tights era. My mother was of the generation that never got round to wearing tights, and I had no sisters. When I was about 11 or 12 years old, a girl in my class at school (I’ll call her Anna) was changing from a games lesson, and I saw she was putting on these stockings that were joined at the top and went all the way up to the waist. I made some comment to Anna about liking her ‘stockings’ and she said “They’re not stockings, silly, they’re tights!” That was my first look at a pair of tights.
When I was little, I had often seen my mother fussing with her suspenders; but these tights looked a much more sensible idea (like sliced bread). I was fascinated, and have been ever since. I told Anna how much I would like a pair, and she said, “Don’t be silly, boys don’t wear tights!” I was stung by the injustice of that remark.
Anna’s tights were ordinary grey ribbed schoolwear, but I thought they were wonderful. How I wished I could try them on!
Months later I was sent on an errand into the school cellar and came across a pair of black opaque tights in an old lost property box. They were nowhere near as nice as the ones that Anna and the other girls had been wearing to school for winter, let alone as nice as the sheer tights that they were just starting to wear in the summer. These black tights were made of a harsh nylon (no lycra in those days!) without much stretch. Oh, and they smelled musty for being in the cellar. Since beggars can’t be choosers, I borrowed those tights several times and in the end there seemed no point in returning them – no-one except me wanted them, so I hid them away. In the end they came at least 3 inches too short for my growing legs and I had to get rid of them.
Finally when I was 16 I got a holiday job working for the Lewis's department store in Birmingham. Those were the days when stores had large hosiery departments, covering nearly half of a sales floor, but they did not let me work there, and I did not dare to ask! However I bought my own first pair of Berkshire tights there, with staff discount, out of my first wage packet. I think I paid 6/8d.
And I have been proving Anna wrong for years.
Thanks for the inspiration. I wear pantyhose everyday and tights in the
winter. Have for over 20 years. I even remove the hair from legs for better
comfort. I own approx 150 pairs (I've been busy on Ebay lately) and have
anywhere from Legg's to Wolford's in both sheers and tights.
Like Geraden I grew up during the days when women moved from stockings to
tights.Stockings looked very clumsy things to wear, but tights as I
discovered around the age of 10 were quite easy to pull on and felt really
good to wear.I had the good fortune to have an older sister who wore tights
evey day and I secretly tried on her tights.
I can’t really remember when I started wearing tights/nylons. All I can
really remember is that I have always loved them. My first experience
believe it or not was when I was 4 ½ years old. My parents traveled the
world because my father was in the military. On a trip to France the
airport lost a suite case and well to make a long story short all my
clothes were in that case. I only know this story because my mom told me.
Being a broke military family my mom had to be resourceful. She quickly
made friends with an older woman who just so happened to be watching a
small child (and could speak Spanish and French fore my mom’s second
language is Spanish). She explained her predicament and the older woman
agreed that I need clothes. Well it just so happened that the older lady
had a girl and not a boy and all the clothes that she gave my mom happened
to be girls clothes. So I lived in France as young girl for a few weeks
until my dad sent us a check to buy me some clothes for me. I think that is
why I love to wear nylons of all sorts anyways my mom let me wear her old
nylons when my dad was not around. So I guess that is how I started. Oh
yeah, I was also endowed to that young girl whose clothes I wore for a few
weeks in France but she has yet to seek me out any ways I have a lovely
girlfriend who just can’t get enough of me in nylons!
Hi everyone! Just thought I'd add my story about how I became one of us
select few men who recognise the practicalities of tights-wearing. Even
though I am only 18 I have been wearing for over six years now, but only a
few days ago started to wear them for a full day while at college. In
primary school we did a production of Cats which required some kind of tail
to be worn by each member of the cast. Of course, we were advised a pair
of old tights would do the trick if stuffed with some material. Anyhow, a
while after the production I found my “tail” in a drawer and decided to try
“it” on in the way that it was originally meant. It was great because my
legs were kept warm and I didn’t have to keep pulling up my socks. Of
course I was ashamed of this because I thought I may be abnormal and not
accepted, so I made sure my parents didn’t see. Last year I decided to
buy my own pair (I had taken one of my mum’s as the old “tail” had become
too short!) and got 3 Nude 15D pairs and wore them quite a lot without
being noticed. I bought a few pairs today in the sales (it’s great to buy
them when you have the confidence) and intend to keep doing so while at
university - Yorkshire gets rather cold in the winter so there’s a good
excuse!
Anyway, I know this is a long story but I thought it may interest a
few of you! Keep up the good work Geraden in promoting this item of
clothing.
Well done, Sleight! You seem to have managed much better than I did when I
was your age. But that was before the Internet, when I had no means of
knowing I was not the only one to love tights.
I also started wearing stockings and garter belts and thongs, what a weight
off my chest ,knowing other guys like to wear stockings as I do. My wife
fully enjoys my wearing lingerie, she says she realy gets off good while I
wear them. The stockings make my legs look sexy. They feel so good on that
on some days I put them in the morning and don`t take them off until after
sex. This evening when she came in from work, I met her at the door wearing
stay up black stockings an my high heels. Needless to say she was thrilled.
{edited for content} I realy like wearing lingerie, but I am glad to know
that other guys like this too. P.S. I am wearing a white garter belt and
black stockings as I write.

i started wearing panty hose when i was 12. my family went to spain, and
on of the evening dinners was a costume party. my costume included a
yellow pair of tights. when i put them on, i fell in love. I am now 45
years old, married with 3 kids age 20 to 15. i have been wearing panty
hose from age 12. my wife knows about my fetish but it annoys her. i
wear panty hose most days, year round. one of my favorite way to wear
panty hose is with shorts and open toe shoes and go shopping in a mall. i
normally go into a shoe store that has a lady salesperson and ask to try on
some shoes. she quickly realizes that i am wearing shorts and pantyhose.
most times it ends up with us talking about it. my best story was once
the lady went into the back and came out with her husband. here i was
sitting there with my shoes off and she brought her husband over and said,
look honey, this guy is wearing panty hose, i find it very sexy. why don;t
you go down to the department store and buy us both a pair to wear. to my
amazement off he went. ... needless to say i visit that shoe store alot.
and yes the husband is always wearing panty hose. he even thanked me the
last time for showing his wife.
Nice story, Huey. Thank you for sharing it. Like yours, my wife dislikes me
wearing, but there has to be give and take in marriage, so we reach a
compromise. I am rarely seen in public in tights (ph) with her, and then
always in the least visible nude sheers. Mostly I cover up with long
trousers when I am out with my wife and family.
In China most people in cities live in apartments/condominiums, and kids
play in groups in and out of those residential buildings. When I was about
8-10 years old (I don't have a good memory for the past, but that enables
me to always learn new things fast) one of my neighbors, who's a girl about
my age, got a pair of tights and put them on. At that time tights were a
novelty there and we all gathered around in her house to look at her
tights. They were red tights, medium thickness and quite stretchy. She (or
her parents) thought tights were just pants with socks attached, so she put
them on with her boxer underwear underneath. It looked funny because her
boxer were loose so with the tights on it became all wrinkled up, and so
she has a very irregular top portion of tights. She played outside wearing
tights like this often.
