Skintone colours
A common worry for men when they venture out in tights and shorts for the first time is to make sure the nylon is as invisible as possible. For this reason they will often choose matt as opposed to shiny tights.
But some men make a mistake about the colour that they choose. Sheers always look darker out of the packet than they do on the legs. The sheerer they are the lighter they will look when worn. The mistake that is often made is to select a colour of nylon that matches the skin tone when the tights are still in the packet. This will typically lead to wearing a colour which is too light. This can make the legs look pasty: if, as a result, the tights are noticeable, the colour chosen will have the opposite effect from what was intended!
Most men (unless they lead an out-doors type of life) have surprisingly pale legs, and usually they will be paler still if the hair is removed. Bare legs are actually noticeable for this reason, and tights that simply reinforce the natural colour will do nothing to tone down the noticeability of the legs.
So the advice is always to wear tights of a shade darker than your natural skin tone if you want to be as unnoticed as possible. If your skin is pale, wear a light or natural tan shade instead of nude or beige. If it is a bit darker, wear a darker shade of tan or a mid brown or taupe colour.
Unless you want your wearing to be noticed, never wear a colour that does not tone well with your skin if your skin is going to show through. Very dark skins can wear black: they should avoid barely black, and any light colours whatsoever. Pale skins should never wear black in sheers, but may wear barely black. Anyone can of course wear black in opaques, but there we have gone off the topic of not being noticed!
