In the US it's illegal to be dressed indecently, but not illegal to crossdress. Also, where would you draw the line? Some people might claim that all the boys wearing girls skinny jeans are crossdressing.
~ Rod ~
is it legal to crossdress when outside as a female
~ Andy M ~
epilators have been suggested. I've just bought a Braun and done my first epilate session. So far so good, but still a long way from hair free legs (which are essential for any tights wearing!!!)
~ Adrian ~
With winter on the way I shall be cutting down on heating bills by wearing opaque tights with a wool kilt.

@badleg: Try Elbeo Sheer Magic or Elbeo Caresse. Size XL is available. They really do help...

Ordered some tights from Emilio Cavallini, they're great! Good stretch, warm, opaque. Good replacement for my regular sock-wearing.

Falke Seidenglatt

posted Tuesday, 4 September 2007

Geradenby Geraden

Looking through my hosiery list, there are a lot of items that I have not got round to reviewing on this site. So I have decided to start with the Falke Seidenglatt 15 denier tights. I reviewed these on the old tights-excite website, but as that is no longer available I am writing a fuller review here.

The Falke Seidenglatt come in 3 denier weights, 15, 40 and 70. The 15 denier ones have long been favourites of mine for several years, ever since I bought a pair from TKMaxx for £2.99 (They were B-sortierung, but perfect as far as I could tell, except that the label had been cut out.) The normal retail price is £8.00.

Falke SeidenglattThey are made in 5 sizes. When I bought mine, two or three years ago, size XL was the largest, though now they do an XXL. Mine were a size 5 XL in the colour poudre (a natural tan colour). Earlier this year a friend of mine bought some Size 4 XL in anthracite (barely black). The other colours available are black, brasil (dark tan), brenda (dark brown), cocoon (medium tan), marine (dark blue) and off white (pale cream).

The tights are boarded and have flat seams. They are 15 denier appearance sheer to waist with a lightly reinforced toe. They are neither matt nor high gloss but they have a nice sheen. Size V has a back panel/gusset, other sizes, just a gusset. A nice touch: the fingerband (the reinforced area below the waistband) has the name FALKE knitted in.

With 10% lycra content, the fit is excellent and so is the feel. They are very soft and silky whether out of the packet, on your legs - or on someone else's legs!

They looked really good on my friend's legs, and maybe not quite so good on mine. We both thought they were among the best tights we had ever tried.

(Apologies for the interference patterns on the packet scan.)

Hi Geraden,

Falke Seidenglatt, both in 15 denier and 40 denier, are one of my favourite tights (the 70 dens are not available in Finland, strange!). Even the most critical Mrs Kaj accepts them. The opaque ones are among the most durable tights I have ever covered my legs with. But the sheers are excellent too. At some Finnish department stores they have recently been available for a special prize, ca 7 €, and I bought half a dozen pairs for this summer. I prefer the “poudre” colour, it looks somehow very natural. Because the (moderate) glossy appearance I prefer to wear them at home, and choose Falke’s Pure Matt 20 when strolling among strangers.

There is just one thing with Falke tights in general: they loose colour when washing and became greyish very easily. Thus they need a gentle hand wash, no washing machines or tumble drying.

The Falke package has got a new design. I send it to your e-mail box.

Regards,

Kaj

Hi Kaj

Thanks for the comment and for the packet scan:

Strange how Falke go for attractive designs which do not show the tights!

I have not noticed any colour-fade with the Falke tights that I have had. I put the tights in a hosiery wash bag and I use a colour bio detergent (which does not contain bleaching agents). I wash them on a gentle machine setting.

I agree with you about the Pure Matt tights - I have already reviewed them here.
