~ Doug ~
In the US it's illegal to be dressed indecently, but not illegal to crossdress. Also, where would you draw the line? Some people might claim that all the boys wearing girls skinny jeans are crossdressing.
~ Rod ~
is it legal to crossdress when outside as a female
~ Andy M ~
epilators have been suggested. I've just bought a Braun and done my first epilate session. So far so good, but still a long way from hair free legs (which are essential for any tights wearing!!!)
~ Adrian ~
With winter on the way I shall be cutting down on heating bills by wearing opaque tights with a wool kilt.

@badleg: Try Elbeo Sheer Magic or Elbeo Caresse. Size XL is available. They really do help...

Ordered some tights from Emilio Cavallini, they're great! Good stretch, warm, opaque. Good replacement for my regular sock-wearing.

Supermarket tights

posted Friday, 28 September 2007

Geradenby Geraden

Not usually a great fan of supermarket tights, I bought this packet of Sainsbury's Medium Support the other day, size XL, colour nude.

Saisbury's Medium Support

They are 20 denier appearance, support factor 8 with reinforced panty and toes. The legs are boarded and there is a cotton lined gusset. The lycra content is 12%. When I put them on, the colour is lighter than it appears on the model in the packet image.

Comparing these with the equivalent Marks and Spencer's tights, these are slightly less silky, but they compare favourably on price (£3.50 as against £5.00). They fit very well, even on my long legs, and altogether they are not a bad pair of tights.

There is something to be said about inexpensive "supermarket" hoisery. Over herein the US, I've found that you can buy a 4 pack of No Nonsense at Wal Mart for less than $5. With a cost of a little more than a dollar, I don't care much if I ruin a pair. Although the Comfilon 549's are my favorites, I can by about 10 pair of the "Supermarket" brand and still be less than one pair of Comflions. The fly, however, in the 549's makes it worth it for me.

I agree, Sainsbury's tights don't seem bad at all. I haven't tried their support tights but I did discover their Gloss tights this year, and have probably worn them more than any other brand throughout the summer. They are sold in packs of 3 for £5, and come in Nude or Natural Tan. Stretchy and comfortable, they have a slight shine, but nothing too obvious - so don't be put off by the 'Gloss' description.

They seem hard wearing and the odd very small snags that occur from time to time after a few wearings have never turned into ladders. All in all I'd say they're certainly worth a try, especially as at that price they won't break the bank!

How do you managed the stare at the the supermarket when buying any types of hoses? What do you say to the cashier , if they asked, during paying the mechandise?

When I buy tights, I am not doing something wrong or illegal. So I am relaxed when paying for them. The supermarket wants my money. I have never been asked why I am buying tights, but if I were asked who they were for I would say they are for me.

Just be relaxed and act normally.

I like these tights, but find ASDA's are generally better-sized out of the supermarket tights.

I also find Sainsbury's own brand ok, the 15 den black sheers and 40 den opaques are really good value for money in multipacks. x
