At work yesterday I was wearing some Debenhams off black support tights (incidentally the lightest off black I have seen - dark grey really) and when I got home it was warm enough to wear my shorts. With my mother in law staying with us, I needed to wear some stealthy skin-tone tights, so the dark grey ones had to come off.
I poked around in my tights drawer, looking for some fairly matt nude tights. I have been buying more noticeable colours recently, and many of my nude ones were too shiny. Then I came across a packet that had been lying around unused for years. It contained a couple of pairs left from a 3 pair pack of body free tights (sometimes called 'suspender tights' because the legs are connected to the waistband by four built in suspenders in the same material as the rest of the tights. The edges are trimmed with a thin band of lace).
I got these 15 denier tights from BHS a long time ago. They seem to have a bit of lycra, but not much, and they are fairly matt, so I thought I would try them.
They are a bit of a Chinese puzzle to put on, because it is so easy to get the suspenders twisted or the legs inside out, but with patience you will soon get that right. Then you have to remember to put them on as though the missing bits around the body are still there! With practice it is not too difficult. The bonus is that when you are wearing them you can go to the loo without pulling them down. Contrary to the impression given by the packet picture, they are best worn under, not over, other underwear. Think about it!
Ok they are not wonderful in terms of fit and feel, but they serve a purpose.
