Earlier this year Charnos discontinued their Light Fantastic range, and stock was remaindered at places like TKMaxx. Rumour had it that Charnos were making a replacement for Light Fantastic and that it would be out in January (an excellent month for wearing ultra-sheer tights!)
| Fortunately rumours are not always right, and the replacements hit the shelves a few weeks ago. They are called Charnos Transparent (soft, sheer and clear) and retail for £4.00, which is £1.00 more than CLF. I have quite a few CLF bought at half price and less, so I delayed trying the Transparent; but I recently bought a pair, - purely in the interests of scientific research, you understand. I wore them today for the first time. | ![]() |
I'm pleased to report that these are even better than CLF. The fabric seems a bit stronger and more durable, but without sacrificing the look and feel. They are sheer-to waist with cotton lined gusset, and flat seams. The waistband is deeper and is designed to be non-roll. Best of all, they are a little longer in the leg than CLF, so the XL size fits me (6'4", 193cm) without problem.
Charnos Transparent are definitely the tights to wear in these summer days - let's hope they last!
