Readers of the Sunday Times Style magazine will be aware of Mrs Mills, who has her off-beat agony aunt column on the last page. I had occasion to mention her column on a previous occasion when she dealt with the issue of men who wear tights, and the general consensus of opinion on her handling of the matter was far from favourable.
This week, (22nd July 2007) she returns to the subject, maybe a little more chastened.
Tight spot
Correspondent PT asks:
I have to bring up the debate about stockings versus tights again, after just reading it online. I am male and prefer to wear tights to stockings, and also prefer women in tights. So where does this place me?
Mrs Mills replies:
It probably places you on the fringes of polite society, flirting with mild perversion, but not quite going the whole hog. I wouldn't fret about this, however, as - though it is rarely acknowledged - that is easily the most crowded place on the social spectrum.
I don't know what you think, but to me, - while this is not exactly positive, neither is it quite so negative as the last time. At least now she is giving the issue some exposure without totally ridiculing it.
