There are two reasons for this posting.
Firstly, for some reason I have recently had a spate of requests for membership to the private pages on this blog; and secondly I know that some people have had difficulty getting access to the private pages even when I have approved it.
I will deal with these in that order, starting with a repetition of information that is available elsewhere on site.
The majority of pages on this blog are freely available to anyone who visits the site. This is not an X-rated site, and there is no X-rated material here, but there are things that are of a more personal or sensitive nature that I prefer to have a little more control over.
I have therefore published some entries as 'private', which means which means that they can only be read by people who have been given membership of the private pages. The membership policy is as follows.
Membership is for people I trust and have confidence in. For example:
I do not give out memberships to people I do not know, so please do not ask.
To request membership, enter your details here. Then Blog City and I between us will do the rest. If it is not obvious who you are, send me an e-mail so I will know to accept you.
As a member you can both see and comment on entries on the private pages, and only members can see the comments you make.
Please forgive me for repeating what I have said before about membership of the private pages, but I suspect that some people who have applied for membership may not have read it fully. I hope that having read this, they will not be surprised if membership is not immediately forthcoming. It does not mean that they have been rejected, rather that their request is still pending.
Having said all that there are still problems with memberships when they have been approved.
In the old days I used to give out a password to anyone I wanted to, and they had immediate access to the private pages via that password. Then Blog City changed the administration side of the blog, so that I could no longer do that.
Now all access is controlled via your Blog-City account, so if you haven't got a Blog-City account, you first have to register for one (quick and painless). You can apply on this site (click here) or write to me asking for an invitation.
Some people who have been properly invited have not been able to get Blog-City accounts, or if they have, the link has not appeared in my admin section. I have raised some of these cases with Blog City, but without success. They say that the individual has to raise this with Blog City Support. If you are one of the people affected, you need to take this up with Blog City yourself, and when Blog City have sorted out your account, I will re-invite you.

This is for comments, not for requests for membership.
