Let me give you the latest instalment on the theme, 'What does it take to get noticed?'
My wife had gone out to a netball match with her team, including my youngest daughter. I was left in to do the washing, and I had to get some milk and other things for the supermarket. I had dropped her off, so I had the car.
After I had washed my tights and a few other things, I decided that I had better get to Sainsbury's before they ran out of the things I needed. I was wearing some tights that had a ladder in them, so first I had to change them. I was wearing dark green shorts, and that gave me the idea. I put on a matching tee shirt, then opened my opaques drawer and took out a pair of Silkies which I put on under my shorts.
I am not particularly fond of my dark green opaques, but they did go quite well with the rest of my outfit. Please, no Robin Hood jokes. I drove down to Sainsbury's, parked the car, and got out.
I thought I would be nervous doing this, but I wasn't. I collected a trolley and went into the store. Well, yes, I did turn a few heads, male and female, young and old. But still only about one person in 25 showed any reaction at all. And not one person said anything to me.
Ger goes AWOL
I will now be away for a few days. I am planning to meet an online friend while I am away, and I'm looking forward to it! I am hoping that my co-authors will be able to post something here to keep things going. Please keep coming back, and checking what's new. Leave a comment if you like – that always makes my day!
