It still allow in the UK to wear anything - no illegal, maybe depend on country, I was wear tights and denim mini skirt that seem to be allow in public Ive wearing many time as cops passing me without stop or ask anything
~ Doug ~
In the US it's illegal to be dressed indecently, but not illegal to crossdress. Also, where would you draw the line? Some people might claim that all the boys wearing girls skinny jeans are crossdressing.
~ Rod ~
is it legal to crossdress when outside as a female
~ Andy M ~
epilators have been suggested. I've just bought a Braun and done my first epilate session. So far so good, but still a long way from hair free legs (which are essential for any tights wearing!!!)
~ Adrian ~
With winter on the way I shall be cutting down on heating bills by wearing opaque tights with a wool kilt.
~ 2craze2 ~
@badleg: Try Elbeo Sheer Magic or Elbeo Caresse. Size XL is available. They really do help...
~ 2craze2 ~
Ordered some tights from Emilio Cavallini, they're great! Good stretch, warm, opaque. Good replacement for my regular sock-wearing.

Amen to that!

Judging by the background detail, I see that these tights are on sale in the men's department of a store. Hopefully they are doing brisk business from the Levee WoMan display stand.

It might work on the continent, but not in the UK. Any man who was curious enough to want to look at the display would back off for fear of being seen to be interested. At least if he was looking at women's tights he could argue that they were for wife/gf/SO, but if they are men's...

Hi Bozeman

Why the difference between the continent and the UK? I know that, when such things still bothered me, I would have been less embarrassed at looking at a rack of men's tights than one of women's. Maybe I would have been less interested, too, but that is another story.

Wow ! Yes, that’s the way it should be. I envy Arcim. What I would do to see such a display in our local shopping malls! It would go a looong way towards real equality and acceptance. In my dreams, I often hear; “Gee honey, your pantyhose are on sale. Why don’t you stock up now?”

Maybe it’s time to move to Germany !

I hoped that you liked the photo....

Myself i would not have a problem buying tights like this in the UK...

My small view....I feel that there would be less fear if sold this way...If looking at womens tights and get seen....If you say that they are not for you...Who will really believe you....Your body language will tell the truth...

Just a bit of a change of subject....Look at the links below of stores that the aim is towards womens tights...Look at graphs for gender..

Thanks Arcim, again!

Those links (I have made them clickable) are very interesting! Of course, most of the mainstream hosiery companies are in denial about their male customers.

Geraden

No Problem....

Hosiery companies do know that men wear their products...Buyers and sellers talk to each other..Unlike high street shops..Online shops have a valuable database of information.. Is it me... Over the last year or two...Womens tights fit men a lot better than they used to...They seem to be more unisex..

No, Arcim, it is not just you. Women's hosiery sizes are in general getting larger. Mainstream manufacturers will say that the reason is that women in general are bigger than they used to be.

The other reason (to which the industry will not admit) is that a significant proportion of their products are now being worn by men, who are on average several inches taller than women.

Tights are becoming unisex - by stealth.

report from usa: most dept stores are dying to sell pantyhose to men/women and recently the stores are not bashful to encourage men to buy for sports and work activities. the salesgirls are helpful and offer advice to men willing to ask for help. they are pushing the darker colors unless a man asks for sheers.

there is no reason why men shouldnt be able to just go and pick a pair of leg wear off the shelf after all they are only a nylon skin that covers the legs why do women make such a fuss over men even wanting to wear pantyhose. After all they no longer want to wear them so why should they try to stop males from wearing them, at least it is keeping people employed in the hosiery industry. they look quiet smart under shorts and short socks to prevent runs, so girls give the fellows a break and give in for once. once every man had a pair of Doc Martins until girls started wearing them then you never see men in them nowdays. at least if men try them and they may not like them the fad may fade away or if sucessfull one in 3 men may start to wear them as long as the prices do not hit the roof. regards frosty freddy

There are very good reasons for men to wear support pantyhose, and some of the most important ones are leg and blood circulation; leg health; leg and feet swelling; leg vein health issues; and leg pain.

Women have been able to wear whatever they choose, whenever they choose, including men's clothes. In fact over the years they have taken over many men's clothing options, which have caused men to abandon many of them, making what used to be men's clothing now women's clothing. Nobody gives a second thought to anything any woman decides to wear, because they have declared absolute right to wear whatever they want whenever they want. No one thinks women are strange, wierd, odd, unusual, gay, or crossdressing because of any particular article of clothing they choose to wear.

It is high time that men have the same ability and freedom to choose articles of clothing without people giving it a second thought; the same freedoms and abilities women demanded and didn't care what anyone thought. While this should be true for any choice, it should especially be true when it comes to articles of clothing that provide some health or quality of life or relief of pain benefits that support pantyhose can bring under many situations.

I believe both men and women should have the free choice to wear or not wear pantyhose. While both men and women should also be free to decide whether to shave their legs or not when wearing pantyhose; I personally think both men and women should shave their legs if they are going to wear pantyhose, especially if they are going to wear them in the open such as in shorts, skirts, or dresses. I don't believe women should be required to shave if wearing hose, but then men have the choice of shaving when wearing hose. If women are expected to shave when wearing hose, so should men be expected to shave when wearing hose.

Hello fellow fashion trailblazers,

  • As a 23yr man who's been enjoying wearing since I was 11 or 12, I would not hesitate to buy if I saw a stand like this at my local dept. store. I'm tired of fashion as usual, and believe you have to be the change you want to see happen. Even in high school i remember one of my classmates would wear tights under his shorts, given he was a bit of a rocker style, but I remember asking him why he did wear, he said I just had them in my closet and I wear them from time to time. I was at the store, and saw a young teen wearing them under his ripped jeans, the red and white stripe pattern plain to see. So, little things like this are encouraging, little by little things will change, we're seeing more and more unisex fashion and the like.

it look good if it happen all the world - it should put this package every shops for men to buy one that may help for shops to stay afloat rather than go bust -- I would think it excellent idea to put tights in every shops or anywhere. Men look so cool and sexy when wear tights/pantyhose than boring old socks... I usual buying online cos it cheaper and fast delivery as my area shops dont have these picture - wish they hurry up to put men tights in shops :)
