Maybe there is hope for the younger generation.
My daughter left University recently, and is trying to get a job. She had an interview this week for a firm of recruitment consultants – it was a group interview involving exercises to test the candidates.
She came down in good time to have breakfast. Instead of her usual ripped jeans and a skimpy t-shirt she was wearing a knee length black skirt and a white blouse with fine blue stripes. I told her that she looked very professional.
I thought of adding that she would look even more professional if she wore tights for the interview, but you cannot tell ex-teenagers what to wear.
However when she came down again after finishing getting ready, her makeup was conservative (none of the black 'panda eyes' eye-liner that she wears to go out in the evenings!) She was was even wearing nude coloured tights, which completed her image perfectly. I wish I could show you a picture, but that would not be right.
I take no credit, but if she can do this with a mother who hates and never wears 'nylons', and a father who is weird enough to wear tights regularly, maybe there is hope for a younger generation of tights wearers after all. Maybe.
As for the job, well there is always a next time ...
One of my dougthers - as a teenager - asked me once in the past if I had a
pair of black tights. I don't like black myself but New Years eve to my
tuxedo I wear sheer black tights - so see got a pair and headed onwards.
Hi Geraden. Well I am glad to hear she wore tights. I think women dressed
as a professional, should wear tights. It makes the outfit look nicer. I
have seen many nice ladies in business dresses without tights. Nasty.
