In the US it's illegal to be dressed indecently, but not illegal to crossdress. Also, where would you draw the line? Some people might claim that all the boys wearing girls skinny jeans are crossdressing.
~ Rod ~
is it legal to crossdress when outside as a female
~ Andy M ~
epilators have been suggested. I've just bought a Braun and done my first epilate session. So far so good, but still a long way from hair free legs (which are essential for any tights wearing!!!)
~ Adrian ~
With winter on the way I shall be cutting down on heating bills by wearing opaque tights with a wool kilt.

@badleg: Try Elbeo Sheer Magic or Elbeo Caresse. Size XL is available. They really do help...

Ordered some tights from Emilio Cavallini, they're great! Good stretch, warm, opaque. Good replacement for my regular sock-wearing.

Gerbe

posted Thursday, 9 February 2006

by Pantyhose

Here I welcome an old friend from tights-excite chat. He is known as Pantyhose and he lives in France. He has kindly translated this correspondence with the major French hosiery manufacturer Gerbe into English for the readers of this blog. - Geraden

This is the enquiry sent to Gerbe by a member of a french forum :

"Hello, I just discovered your support tights range, which allows me to avoid having aching legs during winters.
However, is it planned in your future ranges to have tights more adapted to men's sizes, like your competitor WOLFORD does?
Thank you in advance."

And here is the answer he got from Gerbe :

"Good evening.
I thank you very much for your interest in our brand, especially our DRAIN'UP range which offers products that improve circulation and relax the legs.
As for DRAIN'UP tights in male sizes, we are thinking about it in response to numerous enquiries from our customers; so, in the future, new sizes could be added to our current size chart.
In the meantime, DRAIN'UP 20, DRAIN'UP 40 and DRAIN'UP WINTER knee-highs go up to size XXL; don't hesitate to try them, I am sure these products will give you complete satisfaction and will bring you a real state of well-being all day long. Good night and see you later on www.gerbe.com

Thank you for this, Pantyhose.

A very interesting and encouraging interchange. Even if mainstream hosiery manufacturers will not (yet) target products towards men, at least they are acknowledging the growing male market by altering their sizing policies.

Maybe emphasis on the practical and medical benefits of support hose for men as well as for women will lever acceptance of hosiery wearing for men.

Meanwhile here is an image of the strangely-named Gerbe 'Drain-up 20 thong-back' tights, and very nice they look too. I would not mind trying them, but they are fairly pricy (£17 from figleaves.com).

Same price in France. I mean, you won't save anything if you'd buy it in my country. :-(

The Drain Up series of tights are VERY comfortable and very durable. They are worth every penny you would pay for them. I have had a pair that I have used for more years than I can count. I have several still in their packages for back ups but haven't had to use them yet. If you can buy them, go for it, you won't regret it.

Hi Dave

Have you tried the Gerbe men's tights yet? All the reports say they are very good, and they do have some support. I am waiting to try them myself.
