Emmeline Rules

This landed in my e-mail in-box today. I was so pleased as I read this supportive story from a female perspective. Would that all wives and girlfriends were like Smoothie here! The title refers to Emmeline Pankhurst, whose determination to achieve rights for women won through in the face of entrenched opposition and prejudice. That was male prejudice - but prejudice in our case is not limited to any one sex. 

First of all, thanks for all your hard work in maintaining such a fantastic, refreshing and positive site. Reading all these stories of boldness, courage and strength of character is truly uplifting.

I met the love of my life last summer, and he ‘confessed’ to his love of tights one night after about 4 months.  I went straight to my drawer and got a pair for him to put on there and then.  It was bit of a squeeze but his smile was radiant.  The next day I bought a couple of boxes for him from the supermarket (shouldn’t have bothered, he had lots of much higher quality ones of his own).  He was just so relieved. He’d been contemplating moving back to his own flat, because he couldn’t bear the thought of having to give up his tights.  Now everything is back on course and we’re both in our own wee heaven again.

Why are nylons for men such an issue?  I want to shout and bawl about it, to make it more acceptable. He went into the front garden with me for a couple of minutes the other day in his shorts and tights and was a bag of nerves, although there was no-one around. Hopefully one day he’ll feel secure enough to venture out a bit further. “Just think of Emmeline Pankhurst” I imagine myself saying to anyone who might dare to question him. The misery he has suffered in keeping this a secret for the last 35 years, just because of prejudice and ignorance….. .

On a more personal note, I’m not that into nylon for myself as I usually wear trousers.  I think tights are much better suited to the male anatomy than the female one!  But I’ve invested in some mini-skirts and shiny denier 15 (both for me!), just to please him.  Seeing him in tights doesn’t really ‘do it’ for me either unfortunately, although I have absolutely no objection to him wearing them. And it was sad to see his beautiful hairy legs transformed into beautiful unhairy ones.  I never used to shave my legs, but now do so for him.  Perhaps he’ll forgo the razor for a month each summer so that I can see his legs how I like them for a while.

Anyway I just wanted to ask, is there anything you can do to get this site further up the Google search lists?  (If it costs money, perhaps Lord Laidlaw would be willing to help!) I had to wade through to page 16 before I found it under a “men in tights” search. If it was more accessible, maybe more people would read it. 

In particular, wives (and ex-wives) and children who are not so open-minded and need a little guidance to get their heads around the subject. It would  be good if a few more women contributed too.  That could help to mainstream the subject.
