To anyone who is afraid of going out in public in tights and shorts, no need to fear.
My entire family and all my friends know I wear tights. Expecially during the summer when I love to wear tights with shorts. Cant hide it.
My very first family reunion/cookout and my first outing in tights and shorts, almost 4 years ago now, May 2003, I wore a polo shirt, short blue shorts, blue TEVA sandals, and Leggs' off black tights. I figured if I didn't have any odd looks or remarks wearing what I did that day, I wouldn't have any problems wearing out anywhere else.
There was at least 100 people there that day. There was nothing said that day during the reunion or anytime in future. Even today.
When I told my parents, they said nothing, really it was no big encounter.
Since I have been wearing, April 2003, I only had one encounter at a buffet resturant. I went to dinner with my parents, my fiancée, my brother and his fiancée. I wore a blue Polo shirt, blue Dolphin shorts (Dolphin makes the shorts for the Hooter Girls), Peavy suntan tights (Peavy is the tights Hooter Girls wear), and blue clogs.
We were seated in the middle of the room. So everyone could see. I didn't mind. I never do. This 40ish year old women with her I assume husband sat behind us and one row over. When we go and get the food, we have to walk past her table. On the way back I heard her say to her husband, Well I do like the shorts, very nice color and I like look of the tights, wonder what brand they are.
After a bit, I had to go to the restroom, That couple described above, the women came over to our table and asked people sitting at my table when I went to the restroom, if I was allright in the head. This is the only bad encounter I have had since I started to wear tights, April 2003.
I didn't even know about it until we got home and my fiancée told me. My fiancée told me, she told her to mind her own business.
My fiancée and I wear pantyhose and shorts together when we go to Canada. I got her wearing hosiery much more often.
I don't think it should be such a big deal. If you are comfortable and happy with what you are wearing, BE HAPPY, you only live once......... :)
Keep wearing.........
