In the US it's illegal to be dressed indecently, but not illegal to crossdress. Also, where would you draw the line? Some people might claim that all the boys wearing girls skinny jeans are crossdressing.
~ Rod ~
is it legal to crossdress when outside as a female
~ Andy M ~
epilators have been suggested. I've just bought a Braun and done my first epilate session. So far so good, but still a long way from hair free legs (which are essential for any tights wearing!!!)
~ Adrian ~
With winter on the way I shall be cutting down on heating bills by wearing opaque tights with a wool kilt.

@badleg: Try Elbeo Sheer Magic or Elbeo Caresse. Size XL is available. They really do help...

Ordered some tights from Emilio Cavallini, they're great! Good stretch, warm, opaque. Good replacement for my regular sock-wearing.

Activskin A610

posted Monday, 25 June 2007

When I get chance, I am filling in some of the gaps in my list of hosiery reviews. With the warmer weather I have not been wearing so regularly, but I recently opened a packet of A610s in beige because I felt like wearing some 'male' tights for a change. These are designed and made for men by Activskin, the pioneering leader of the male tights market based in Granville, Ohio.

Activskin A610They have a 15% Lycra content ensuring a good fit. The length in XL is good for 6'4" plus. The fit around the body is snug, as one would expect, because they are marketed as control tops. An innovative hold-up band at the top of the leg fits just below the crotch where the leg is slightly narrower, and this helps greatly to keep the tights up. There is some support for the legs, but not an uncomfortable amount. (They feel like support factor 6.) They are fairly matt, and in beige they are low-visibility. They are suitable for wearing with either shorts or under long trousers because they have little cling.

Like all Activskin products they are of good quality, and this particular style is one of the more economical ones. Costs have been kept down by not providing a fly or a male front panel.

They have a 20 denier sheer leg with a reinforced brief and a gusset. The toe is not reinforced for some reason. I do not think many men will be wearing them with open toed sandals, so the lack of toe reinforcement seems to be a mistake. They do however seem more durable than the average women's 20 denier tights.

They are usually available from Legwear4men.com for £6.99.

Hi G, 'The toe is not reinforced for some reason. I do not think many men will be wearing them with open toed sandals, so the lack of toe reinforcement seems to be a mistake.'

I don't think it's a mistake - and I wear 610's with sandals and shorts a lot at this time of year. Never had a pair fail at the toe either.

Bear in mind, by the way, the 610's are no longer in production - the manufacturer went bust last year, and ComfiLon now have the new model 535 to take its place. There are still a fair few pairs of 610's in stock just yet though, so they will still be around for a while yet.

Hi Bozeman

Great to hear from you again. Good for you if you wear sheer toe tights with open toe sandals! I know that not many women, even those who do wear hosiery, are comfortable with that look (unless they are 60+, of course). That is why I thought that it was unlikely that men would do so. By the way, do you know how hard it is to get decent closed toe men's sandals? I have one pair, by Rieker, that I got in TKMaxx.

How do the A535s compare? I must try them some time.
